BeBop Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) http://www.bordersmedia.com/coup/50main20101124.html Hope this works. Posted with cell phone Edited November 26, 2010 by BeBop Quote
mjzee Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Thanks for thinking of us. Note that the coupon is for "Any One Item 50% off list price." Quote
AllenLowe Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 actually, the latest offer is: Buy One, Steal One, Get Off With Time Served Quote
medjuck Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I thought they were just doing it locally here because they're closing the store. And also their store in Thousand Oaks. Just as they killed locally owned bookstores they're being killed by Amazon and e-books. Quote
ejp626 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I'm pretty much through with Borders and Borders.com. Their server was crashed on the 23rd with people trying to cash in their Borders bucks, leaving many people unable to reclaim them. I tried 5 times throughout the day to place an order. Unacceptable. And then I decided, what the hell, maybe I can go get Jazz Icons 4 with the 50% off coupon. Two stores said it was in stock, even on their internal system and it was not on the shelf. I had to wait forever to get help at one of the stores because they were short-staffed on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Bad website. Bad inventory control. Very bad service at the brick and mortars. Not going to be too sorry when they go under. Quote
Brad Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 actually, the latest offer is: Buy One, Steal One, Get Off With Time Served I tried that and when I was leaving they asked me if my name was Allen Lowe? Quote
Tjazz Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) The Borders ad flyer in the Thanksgiving day newspaper also has a 50% off coupon, for 1 item, 11/26-11/28. Edited November 25, 2010 by Tjazz Quote
Tom 1960 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I'd take advantage of the coupon except for the fact the last time I visted Borders cd inventory was pretty pathetic. That was some time ago and I don't know whether it's worth a 45 minute drive at this point for just 1 item whether it's a cd or a book. If Paul Secor reads this can you help me out? I'm referring to the store in Wappingers Falls. Quote

kh1958 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I wanted to use the coupon to buy the new Hendrix box set, but of course they didn't have it. Instead I settled for the new Chucho Valdes CD with the Afro-Cuban Messengers. At least they had one new CD I wanted. Quote
GA Russell Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Borders sells eBook readers. I'm not sure how many different brands. At half off, that's quite a steal. Quote
BeBop Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) 40 percent off tomorrow, but, again, in-store only. For me, a book would be the greater temptation (than a CD, since their selection has long been pathetic.) Edited November 25, 2010 by BeBop Quote
Quincy Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Borders sells eBook readers. I'm not sure how many different brands. At half off, that's quite a steal. It's not good for that. I picked up Molly O'Neill's latest cookbook as a gift. Better price than Amazon. Quote
trane_fanatic Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) 50% off coupon good through Thursday: Link ... and a free tea or coffee while you're there if they have a cafe in-store through Christmas... Link Edited December 16, 2010 by trane_fanatic Quote
trane_fanatic Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Does anyone know if these coupons can be used more than once during the applicable period or are they tracked according to your Borders Rewards card #? I know what the fine print says, but has anyone tried reusing them anyways recently? Quote
JohnT Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 They may track but I don't think they care --they want your $$. I have used a coupon and walked right back in to the same store and used a second a few minutes later. I think my max was using 4-5 coupons in one day (going to several Borders)-- of course, that was back in the day when they had a better inventory. Quote
Stefan Wood Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Ahh, I remember the "good old days" when the 50% coupons came out. Printed a whole bunch of them, went to the store and had the cashier ring out each cd one by one till I ran out of coupons. That was when they had a jazz section that spilled over more than one display rack. Quote
