BruceH Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 I'm an introvert, but I play an extrovert on the internet... Seriously, I'm about as quiet as they come until I get to know people. I don't enjoy parties at all. I hate crowds. However, like a lot of people who have depression issues, I become a total clown to deal with it. Since that's when I'm noticed, and I'm overlooked when I'm quiet, people tend to think I'm an extrovert. It's like I have a twin. Quote
papsrus Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 I would guess that introverts have a lower risk-reward profile than extroverts. They play it safe. Don't like the risk of failure and, conversely, don't get that much satisfaction from the rewards of success. Having said that, I haven't left the house yet today. My name's James and I'm an introvert. Where's the 12-step program? Seriously, I'm happier in quieter, more intimate social settings where there are really no demands on me than I am in larger, more energetic ones where I'm expected to glad-hand and be at least mildly interesting to, and mildly interested in, casual acquaintances and total strangers alike. Seems quite natural to moi. Quote
Larry Kart Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 I'm an introvert -- don't bother me with these questions. Quote
JSngry Posted November 19, 2010 Report Posted November 19, 2010 Wasn't "introvert" once used as a "code word" for "homosexual"? Quote
