king ubu Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I ordered the Amos Milburn from somewhere else today (a regular mailing I get from a small Swiss vendor) - no idea if it really comes through, probably just a single box, but I ordered as soon as I got the mail, so I do hope I was the fastest! Would be oh so great! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 That Cecil FMP box is giving me a cold sweat. Decent price, but still a lot of change. Quote
colinmce Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) Gone now. How much did it go for? There is/was one on ebay for "only" $600. Edited November 13, 2010 by colinmce Quote
BFrank Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Thad/Mel is "only" $200. Usually goes for much more than that on ebay - most recently for $303. Tempting. Quote
sidewinder Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 The Maynard set for $200 was a great deal for whoever got it. Quote
shaft Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Tried to get the Maynard set after 10 min - but it was gone instantly after a reply mail from Jazzloft. Good deal! /Shaft Quote
B. Goren. Posted November 15, 2010 Author Report Posted November 15, 2010 It is really beyond me how the J.J Johnson set is still available. Quote
BFrank Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 It is really beyond me how the J.J Johnson set is still available. I think it's priced a little high - it recently sold on ebay for $167. The OOP Mosaic market isn't what it once was (except for Maynard and Thad/Mel, for some reason). You used to be able to count on at least double the original price on these - no longer the case. Quote
brownie Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Prices reached by some recently auctioned Mosaic boxes! Quote
sidewinder Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Prices reached by some recently auctioned Mosaic boxes! LP sets seem to be keeping their value OK. Someone got a good deal on the 6LP Hall/Johnson/deParis/Dickingson set ! Quote
BFrank Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 It seems that the LP market is still hot. Quote
Ron S Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) Here's the CD side--some of the smaller OOP sets seem to be doing pretty well: http://completed.sho...d=p3286.c0.m282 But definitely not as hot as the LP market. Edited November 15, 2010 by Ron S Quote

Would be oh so great! Yowzah! It just made it here... brand-spanking-new Amos Milburn #173, discs were still sealed... cost: about 130US$ Quote
brownie Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 The website of the record store Paris Jazz Corner is currently selling a number of Mosaic boxes (mainly vinyls) http://parisjazzcorner.com/en/dis_focus.php?LANGUE=uk Most of them have already found new owners! Quote

king ubu Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Whoah - amazing stuff there... 300€ for the Tina Brooks? That's tempting to sell mine... but no, I'd never be willing to part with it in the end! The Hodes is the one I'd want most badly (the Commodores... forget it, way too expensive!) But anyway, I got that Amos Milburn (CD version) today and that already feels like x-mas and all that other crap in one day! Quote
sidewinder Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) That's a good deal on the Shorty Rogers LP set on there. A very good deal, in fact. Stuff the Irish debt crisis ! The Hodes is the one I'd want most badly Go for it ! Edited November 17, 2010 by sidewinder Quote
king ubu Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Go for it ! No, can't afford it right now. Alas, alas... Quote
