The Nesmith is now $11.31.  Does anyone have an opinion of these albums?

I bought the set as a curiosity, and it far exceeded my expectations.  Not just "country-rock", there are a lot of other things going on, and the musicianship and writing are very good.  Well worth checking out.

That's a great buy on the Monterey Pop set, which is a 60's cultural landmark (and utterly enjoyable).

The Searchers - Collected (81 tracks) - $12.95 + $3.99

(May be a Bear Family release.)

It's on Universal.  Bear Family would never roll with a cherry-picked set than completeness.  That being said, nice price, and they were one of the very best, and one of the most underrated British Invasion groups.  "Needles and Pins" is the British Invasion to me more than any other record by anyone (yes, even that other group).

This might appeal to some of you.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Freedom - Live at the 1970 Atlanta Pop Festival (2 CDs) - $8.00 prime

I own it. Not perfect, but pretty great.  Canonical live stuff to me along with Winterland and Band of Gypsies (I'm not a big fan of his Monterey or Woodstock performances, especially Woodstock).

Some pretty fine stuff there, and pretty good notes as well.  Don't know the whole history well enuff to judge beyond that.

Am I right to assume that with these you get the 5 albums as originally issued, no outtakes, no alternates?

Looks that way. For instance, I found track listings of the Henderson on the Italian Universal site.

I have the Burrell set. No alternates, no outtakes, just original album reproduced. Not sure on the masterings. Perhaps Japanese 24 bit from early in the century? Have only listened to one disc so far, haven't done any comparisons, that disc sounded like a 24 bit Toshiba might.
