king ubu
Indeed! But the pagacking is silly ... mine arrived rather crumpled after an overseas ride. Too much cardboard involved, not stable enough. But it doesn't matter, I still like it very much!
tjluke68
Just saw that Dusty Groove has the Bopland 3-CD set for $9.99: DG Amazon sellers have it for a little less http://www.amazon.co...d the legendary I got my sealed copy from a old record/CD distributor for less than $7. Love it but glad I didn't pay full price when it came out (which I was about to several times at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square when it was around)... Also: Joe Henderson, $7.69; Herbie Hancock, $11.65; Wayne Shorter, $18.61; Art Blakey, $7.60: Any thoughts on this Bill Withers box? Not jazz, exactly, but his hits have a nice feel to them. 9 discs, $23.30 from an Amazon reseller:

colinmce
Regarding those 4xCD Blue Note sets: are those in individual jewels or are they flat cardboard? Or is there no individual packaging for the albums at all? The Blakey has three I need, but I'd like to just file them along with my regular Blakey stack. Or is there no individual packaging for the albums at all? The Blakey has three I need, but I'd like to just file them along with my regular Blakey stack. I just got the Joe Henderson. These are packaged exceedingly cheaply, even by the standards of this sort of release. Flat cardboard, pretty thin paper, encased in a thin cardboard sleeve. Original front-cover art is surrounded by a white border. No original back covers. Back covers only list song titles, composers and timings, along with RVG mastering dates (these do appear to be the most recent remasters); personnel and recording dates are not mentioned! Haven't listened to one yet to check sound quality, but assume it's fine (these are EMI releases, not boots). Still, the prices are enticing. tranemonk
Amazon has Ella's The Concert Years 4 CD set on sale through Newbury Comics for $14.99. I know it's her later recordings but I've been into Ella a lot the last few weeks and $15 is ridiculous. http://www.amazon.com/Concert-Years-Ella-Fitzgerald/dp/B000000XHT/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1363188004&sr=1-1&keywords=the+concert+years

I ordered on Feb 22, received confirmation right away, and it came March 6, so 12 days total. I don't know what the stock/fulfillment time situation may be since then, but the price is so good it's probably worth waiting it out, especially since we know they've actually been fulfilling orders on something that I thought at first to be a price mistake.
