GA Russell Posted September 6, 2011 Author Report Posted September 6, 2011 This is a good deal: $24.99 for 15 CDs from Newbury Comics via Amazon: Sinatra Capitol Records Concept Albums Thanks for that heads up, mjzee! I was given a few small gift cards, including one for $25, which I spent on this. It arrived today. I was fortunate to place my order the day before Amazon sold out at this price. I see that today Amazon has it for $64.99, which when you think about it is not unreasonable for 15 classic albums. Quote
BeBop Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 I don't shop much, but these seem like bargains: Bill Evans Complete Riverside for $60 Joe Henderson Milestone for $45 Mingus 1959 Columbia for $15 Miles Columbia '55-'85for $11. Verve Story '44-'94 for $7 (4-CDs) Quote
Free For All Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 Bill Evans Complete Riverside for $60 A good deal, but folks need to be sure to read the fine print- the two listed near at or near this price don't come with boxes and/or booklets. Thanks for posting all those deals, though! Quote
BeBop Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 Free for All - Thanks for giving the listings a more careful "read" than I (confessed non-buyer/shopper) did. A couple more: Jazz Celebration: Carl Jefferson Tribute for $9 (4-CDs) ...if anyone's into the Concord Jazz thing. Sonny Rollins Blue Note for $22 (5 CDs) Andrew Hill - Solo Select $35.47 Amazon new with free shipping (minor deal) Quote
colinmce Posted September 7, 2011 Report Posted September 7, 2011 It should be illegal to sell those kinds of partial sets. I mean, I exaggerate but I've been disappointed a million times browing Mosaics and other box sets Amazon when I see an amazing price and click to find it's just discs (and usually just one!). Quote
B. Goren. Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Sonny Rollins Blue Note for $22 (5 CDs) Please keep in mind that Rollins BN recordings is not a "set" in the usual sense of the word: It is a package of the 5 individual disks (with the original liner notes of each CD). The price is atractive, though. Quote
Van Basten II Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Jack Johnson at Popmarket, note that it's a one-day sale: http://www.popmarket...Product%20image Bought it, have yet to receive at least a shipping notice, for those who have already done business with them are they always so slow to manage their orders. ? Yes - they can be very slow and don't provide any kind of status updates. Denis Finally made it home. Quote
Bluerein Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Is there a new Coupon for the Pop Market site? All the old ones are outdated. Thanks, Reinier Quote

medjuck Posted September 28, 2011 Report Posted September 28, 2011 (edited) Wow this seems like a bargain: Epic 22 CD budget box set, that contains the 20 albums from Miles' time on Columbia. Includes: Kind of Blue, We Want Miles, Bitches Brew, Porgy & Bess, 'Round Midnight, Someday My Prince Will Come, Miles Smiles, On the Corner, E.S.P., Decoy, Star People, and more. http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=8573847&style=music&meid=12852&x=1473141897738 20 (or is it 22-- they can't seem to decide) for under $50! If I was missing even a 3 or 4 of these (which most of us probably aren't) I'd get this. Looks legit too. Edited September 28, 2011 by medjuck Quote
