Highly recommend Captain's Paradise!

Man Dad remembers seeing that in the theaters when it first came out. Yvonne DeCarlo was so very hot in her youth... There is a nice box set with many of the films on tonight, but not Last Holiday (1950), or Horse's Mouth, (1958) so looking forward to them.

Oh, I missed the one below, since it shows up on the next day of the Schedule...if you have seen the re-make only, you will really wonder how they could screw this great story up so very much.

5:00am [Crime] Ladykillers, The (1955)

An eccentric bandit gang moves into a little old lady's boardinghouse to plot a major heist.

Cast: Alec Guinness, Cecil Parker, Herbert Lom, Peter Sellers Dir: Alexander Mackendrick BW-91 mins, TV-G

I forget that The Ladykillers wasn't Alastair Sim... great film. After the filming, Peter Sellers asked Herbert Lom if he could help him get another job in movies!

I love the Lavender Hill Mob too - Sid James' first main feature, and the role in which he was spotted to join Tony Hancock for radio & TV. Writers Galton & Simpson had to wait for a re-run at the pictures and watch through to the credits to discover his name.
