Son-of-a-Weizen
For those who have an interest in all things TOCJ, this Chinese BB laundry list contains everything right up though the Feb. '04 expected releases. http://musicpower.080.net/~musicp/bbs/show...98&pagenumber=4 Edited December 22, 2003 by Son-of-a-Weizen
Jim R
Shouldn't this thread be titled "JRVG Central"? When somebody says "TOCJ", I still think of the jewel cased (or "BN Works") series with TOCJ followed by the original LP catalog #. The 9000 series are all JRVG's, no? Yes? Son-of-a-Weizen
Not really. The actual JRVGs are: 9001-9251.....9361-9371......9501-9590. With some exceptions ("Talkin & Walkin', "Coltrane Time", "Bird's Eye View" "Modern Art", etc) the rest are all McMasters and were not Lion-produced Blue Note sessions. Suppose I could have called it the 'Toshiba Mini-Lp Collection'?
Jim R
Ah... okay. I'm getting kind of fuzzy (no wisecracks please ) on this stuff. I don't even buy mini LP's, unless no other format is available. Anyway, I guess I'm just "old school" when it comes to associating "TOCJ" with jewel cased CD's... Claude
Thanks for the link, Weizen. I did not know there were so many JRVGs. So EMI Japan let old Rudy remaster hundreds of sessions only to let the CDs go out of print a few years later. It's no surprise RVG messed up a lot of those remasters, because he must not have had much time for every session or he wasn't very motivated. Okay, I'll alter the thread title in order to keep you "old" guys from falling out of your wheechairs in shock & dismay.
