Free For All Posted October 17, 2010 Report Share Posted October 17, 2010 The tune "Blue Trombone" is a prime example of JJ's compositional style of improvising- it's a long blues in F and each chorus has a specific motive which he develops. I've transcribed it and have had several students do the same over the years. It's a great lesson in making a solo be "about" something. And the cover is totally cool as well.
