Larry Kart Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 My link interesting ads for jazzclubs and off broadway theatres Check out the Pre-Stonewall first graf of this Seymour Krim VV piece: http://www.facebook.com/chrisaschneider#!/photo.php?fbid=431858644354&set=a.98940674354.90321.614794354&pid=5174357&id=614794354 And the last graf has its moments too, especially Krim's final sentence. Peter Johnson Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Wow, Randy--thanks for sharing. Interestingly, the image on the fist page of that issue--the "Rheinlander Gardens" in NYC--was demolished to make way for P.S. 1, the Greenwich Village School at the corner of 6th Ave and West 11th Street--about 12 doors east of our previous apartment! Larry, The link requires a log-in and I may be the last person on earth who's not on Facebook. Which piece (date) is it? I'll look it up. I've got three of Krim's collection -- what a fascinating writer! Edited October 6, 2010 by Mark Stryker Quote
marcello Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Thanks, Randy! The first one I looked at had Cecil Taylor at the Five Spot on New Years Eve, and Monk at The Pad. This was before Monk started his run the Five Spot. Quote

brownie Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Amazing! Will explore all these Voices whenever possible. Started reading the Voice in the '60s and subscribed to it for a couple of decades! Thanks for the link! Quote
AllenLowe Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 thanks, Larry, for the Krim link. Also, did you mean the last sentence of the actual review, or of the Post Script? Quote
