bertrand Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) There were no bonus tracks on the Mosaic Select Dizzy Reece for the Star Bright and Soundin' Off sessions, correct? I have the other two as Connoisseurs (including the extra cuts) and just got Star Bright from Dusty Groove. I just need Soundin' Off which I might be able to get online for less than I thought, but I wanted to make sure there were no missing tunes, not that BN is ever going to reissue it Bertrand. brownie Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 No bonus on the Reece Select. Just all the previously issued tracks from the four BN albums (Blues in Trinity, Star Bright, Soundin' Off and Comin' On)! Quote
bertrand Posted August 7, 2010 Author Report Posted August 7, 2010 Thank you, gentlemen. I listened to Star Bright last night. Great record, and now of course I need to pull out the other two again, and track down Soundin' Off. How is that one? I also realized I am missing only two Blue Note Mobley sessions (leader or sideman): the Freddie Roach and the Jimmy Smith. Both used to be available. You snooze, you lose. Bertrand. Quote
Gheorghe Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I got those 4 CDs as single CDs. The "Sounding off" stucks out. It starts quite unusual for BN with a Ballad "Ghost of a Chance". And Walter Bishop plays some very very fine piano on that album. Quote
king ubu Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) I still have a spare copy of "Soundin' Off" for sale (15$ plus shipping) - drop me a PM! edit: sorry - not "Soundin' Off" but "Comin' On" (and also "Blues in Trinity") for sale!
