colinmce Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Hm. I like the cover on the Blue Note set, but one of those tri-tones would've also been elegant. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I had the yellow/red one and another with a David Stone Martin drawing (trio w/Nat). Quote

Quasimado Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 If I recall correctly the original Volume One of the Aladdins issued on the English Vogue lable had a very hip mosaic-type cover including a pic of Lester, glass in hand. Would any of our UK members be able to upload that? Q Quote

CJ Shearn Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Is Hank's "Just Coolin" a tribute of sorts to Prez? Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Somehow the original Aladdin covers don't look all that rare to me, maybe because French EMI did pretty nice facsimile reissues of the two LPs in the 80s (which I was very glad to snap up at the time). Now which of the ones apart from the yellow/blue and green/pink one here is NOT a Warhol-ish fake but existed actually? Quote
carnivore Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I still have the pink one with the photo of the (art director's?) chick. DB Blues!!!!!!!! Quote
