7/4 Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 I saw this in Down Beat, I've gotta get this! Love that cover and da copy. 'Tis the season to be jolly? Hardly! The holiday season is really the time for dysfunctional families, useless knickknacks, and expanding waistlines. Why fool yourself with the run-of-the-mill music of the season and its sugar-coated themes of love and understanding? Add a dash of reality to your holiday proceedings while thumbing your nose at the putrid sentimentality with music that cries out "back off and leave me alone!" 1. Christmas Blues 2. 'Zat You, Santa Claus? 3. Santa Claus Got Stuck (In My Chimney) 4. Blue Christmas 5. My Birthday Comes On Christmas 6. Merry Christmas Baby 7. Please Come Home For Christmas 8. Stormy Blues 9. Good Morning Blues 10. Baby It's Cold Outside 11. Nuttin' For Christmas 12. Christmas Blues Various Artists: Louis Armstrong Count Basie Billy Eckstine Ella Fitzgerald Billie Holiday Spike Jones B.B. AfricaBrass Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 When I read the title, " Yule Be Miserable", I was afraid Verve had dubbed Kenny G onto all those tracks (ala his duet with Armstrong ). That would be an uncool yule! Quote
