colinmce Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I received an e-mail from Amazon today alerting me to the release of this set on the Jazz Friends label, apparently recorded live in 1998. Anyone know about it or heard it? I'm guessing it's a solo recital. Also, according to Andrew's website it's a 2001 release. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004VFL9/ref=s9_simh_gw_p15_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=09CN106HMVPX003W0FQ5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846 Quote
fkimbrough Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Yes, it's a solo release....it has early takes of "15/8" and "Dusk" (two takes), a Russel Baba piece called "Seven", other originals by Andrew - "Joanne", "Little Spain", "Labyrinth", "Metz", and a couple of standards - "What's New?", and "I'll Be Seeing You". The only drawback of this recording is a Yamaha piano. recorded live at Les Trinitaires, Metz, France on Feb. 10 and 11, 1998. Quote
fkimbrough Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Amazon's price is ridiculous............after checking several sites, this seems to be the best price - Downtown Music Gallery has it for 16 bucks....http://search2.downtownmusicgallery.com/lookup.cgi?item=2005_06_20_02_08_38 Edited June 24, 2010 by fkimbrough Quote
bertrand Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Is this still available in record stores in France? How much do they charge? Bertrand. Quote
Niko Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 don't think it will be easily available there, otherwise it would be on amazon.fr, priceminister (only one copy for 10 Euro),... it's on emusic, deezer,... though Quote
