Amazing how sometimes music sounds better in a record store than it does when you play it at home.

Same theory applies to loose women picked up in bars. tongue.gif

During the work week I get a half hour each way on the commute with head phones, at home maybe 30 to 90 minutes of some kind of combo of either system or headphone listening.

On the Weekends I try a double or triple that time and have more intense listening. I also give the weekends over to vinyl since the work week is some kind of stream, ipod, mp3, cd or lossless rip off a cd, vinyl is my preferred format for sound and it also forces me to sit and listen.

Went for the 5 hours/day option and mostly multi-tasking... I guess I squeeze in about 5-6 hours a week of late night listening with headphones and some beverages, but I may as well read some newspapers or magazines then...

Also, there are days when I work at home, so probably 8-10 hours of music on those, or even more, and there are days spent at the office where I listen to just 1-2 hours in the evening.

Finally, Bev's mention of reading/writing and listening at the same time rings a bell... what happens to me sometimes then is: darn, now I missed X's solo again... I get up, hit the "back" button of the player... only to listen closely again AFTER X's solo is over, of course... after the third attempt I give up, usually, and promise myself to play that disc again paying some real attention next time...
