BeBop Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) I had hoped to visit the Bay Area for the James Moody 85th birthay tribute, but heard that he was ill and unable to attend. From the Yoshi's website: James Moody is ill and will not be able to be present at the show.Join us, in an all-star tribute and celebration to the great Mr. Moody! Any news? Hardbopjazz Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Hopefully he will get well quickly. There are some artists that are always there, every year. James Moody is one of them. I can think of a few others, such as Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath, Hank Jones. Quote
cymbalgroove Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Oh boy.. I hope he's ok. One of the greatest and nicest people ever!! Does anyone know about Hank Jones being in Sloan Kethering in New York? I heard he's sick. Quote
sidewinder Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Wishing the very best of 'Get Well Soon' wishes to both James Moody and Hank. Hope they are both back on their feet soon. Quote

ValerieB Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 i heard Moody is recuperating in a rehab facility after battling a post-surgical infection. he definitely didn't need complications but thankfully he's "on the mend". Quote
