wolff Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Wierd. On the other hand, the price is right ($8.99). Quote
Jazz Groove Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I picked up the Leo Parker "Tell me About It", Spanish releae. The cover is a bit funky too. But the music is great. Quote
Dan Gould Posted December 8, 2003 Author Report Posted December 8, 2003 I think they all have the blue cover, the point of the thread was to show how silly a blue cover looks on the True Blue cover specifically. Quote
Claude Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 With the two Blue Note cover books on the shelf, one can easily ignore the looks of CD booklets B) Quote
Jazzdog Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 What were they thinking? How much more blue could this be? The answer is None...none more blue". Quote
Morganized Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 I just noticed this one one the Dustygoove site today. I wondered what the Spanish versions sound like. I also wondered if its release to the Spanish audience forbode it re-release in the States. It sure seems about time. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 These were leased, and not to be sold outside Spain, maybe other European companies. But they are seen here and there over here. I have the Leo Parker, a gift from Victor in Denmark. . . it is from a TOCJ master. . . sounds great! Quote
Tjazz Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Are these legit?? If I can get a domestic USA version with original cover, I'd pass on the Spanish versions. Quote
Jazzdog Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Here's an older thread which goes into a fair bit of detail. We seem to have surmised that some of them are TOCJ remasterings. Some are rare grooves and some are from the original late 80's McMasterings, so you really have to kind of draw in your old bias as far as this goes. They sound fine to me. http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...ue%20notes&st=0 Quote
