Jim Alfredson Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Hey hey, I'll be going pretty much everywhere this summer continentally and even to Norway in August as part of the touring band behind Janiva Magness. I'd love it if any of you can make a sure and say hi! Or contact me via PM and we can hang if I have the time. Her complete schedule is on her website here: http://www.janivamag...s/news_main.php It changes all the time, so if you don't see your city, check back in a few weeks. Hope to see you on the road! BFrank Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Unfortunately, it looks like the closest you'll get to San Francisco is Tahoe City (not close). Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 Keep checking. Dates are coming in every week. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Gulf Port, MS tonight. Baton Rogue, LA in the early afternoon tomorrow. Into Texas on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Quote
Dan Gould Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I'm really hoping she can be booked into the new B.B. King club in West Palm Beach, otherwise I'm SOL. Quote
Ed S Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Was at the Tremblant Blues Festival last year. It was very nice. Had a great time and heard some really good bands. The festival is staged on several stages spread throughout the ski village at the base of the mountain. Don't know if you're going to be around long enough, but a trip to the top of the mountain on the gondola is definitely worth it. There are quite a few restaurants ranging from casual to very nice and a brand new gambling casino somewhere on the other side of the mountain. Quote
mr jazz Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Birchmere is a nice club. I'll have to see if I can make it. Quote
kh1958 Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Houston, Austin, San Antonio but no Dallas. Quote
bertrand Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Not sure I can make it to the Birchmere on 5/12 - it's hard to get there on a week night (and I was already planning to go see Doug Carn the next night). But I'll play it by ear. How long will you be in the D.C. area? Bertrand. Quote
Dave Garrett Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Was hoping to make it to the Houston date later today, but I'm flying out on a business trip very early Monday morning and still have some work to finish before then. Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted May 4, 2010 Author Report Posted May 4, 2010 It was great to meet you, Jeff. Still waiting for pics from Matthew. Sorry we didn't get to talk after the first set. I take it you enjoyed the show? Quote
Free For All Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) Jim, I am so effin disappointed I was out of town when you were in Tally last Friday. Ironically I was closer to your neck of the woods (in PA) then I have been in a while. I'm sure you were tearin' it up. Did you have a good crowd? EDIT: I see you're scheduled for Nashville on Friday. Think it's still gonna happen(because of the flooding)? Edited May 4, 2010 by Free For All Quote
jeffcrom Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 It was great to meet you, Jeff. Still waiting for pics from Matthew. Sorry we didn't get to talk after the first set. I take it you enjoyed the show? I left just before the end (I think) of the first set in order to get to another show I wanted to catch. And yes, Janiva and the band were amazing. Every one of your solos just killed. Quote
Dan Gould Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Speaking of Jim's solos, are you watching out for reviews of these shows in the local media? If they take note of the organist you might end up with some additional quotes to include in future press packets. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 8, 2010 Author Report Posted May 8, 2010 Thanks, Jeff! Here's a link to a video of Janiva and I doing a duo for the Memphis local morning show on WREG. It was early in the mornin'. But I think it came out nice. http://www.wreg.com/videobeta/b9599970-5eb3-4331-9560-bbc227fe3c42/Entertainment/Janiva-Magness And yes, I'm very happy and humbled that I have been getting some mention in the press. Here's a performance review from our show in Austin last week. http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/music/entries/2010/04/27/live_review_janiva_magness_at.html?cxntfid=blogs_austin_music_source Just played Nashville tonight. On to Bristol TN tomorrow, Durham NC on Sunday, and we'll be broadcasting live on NPR's Woodsongs program on Monday. http://www.woodsongs.com/index.asp Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 8, 2010 Author Report Posted May 8, 2010 Bristol TN tonight at Machiavelli's. Hitting at 10pm. Here's a nice shot from our show at the Beale Street Music Festival last Sunday. Quote

When will "Ronadelphia" be released? To tell the truth, my Privia has probably been played more by Jim than it has by me. Quote
