Jim Alfredson Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 This weekend was so busy before I left for LA that I forgot to post about this here. On Friday afternoon I got a message from my long-time piano mover friend that he had a Hammond organ in his truck that a family was throwing away. He didn't know what model it was but it had a speaker. So I asked him to send me a pic and he did. One look and I knew what it was. He delivered it on Saturday morning and didn't even charge me for the delivery! It's a 1974 or '75 mint Hammond B3 with matching 122 Leslie. I'm a lucky dog! That's Stella sitting next to me; she's almost two years old and loves music. Quote
jazzbo Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 Congrats Jim! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy/family. Quote

Dave James Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 Real life validation of the old adage; "you can never overestimate the value of a long-time piano mover friend." Quote

Bishop Hill Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) my little one rockin on the C3! Does any one know how to hook up a C3 to a Leslie 122 can it be done with out a 6122 hook up kit? Edited October 22, 2010 by Bishop Hill Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 22, 2010 Author Report Posted October 22, 2010 Haha! Cute! To connect a C3 to a 122 yes you need a 6122 kit. You should also have a tech do it for you if you're not familiar and comfortable with electronics. There's 300+ volts DC running inside a Hammond (B+ voltage) and the Leslie and it can easily kill you if you don't know what you're doing. Quote
