GA Russell Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Our own Frank Kimbrough has a new album out called Rumors. I listened to it last night at lala, and really enjoyed it. It reminds me of Paul Bley. The new Paul Motian album Frank likes so much also reminds me of Paul Bley, so I guess what Motian's group was doing was right up Frank's alley. I hadn't looked up Frank at lala before, and now I see that he has 12 albums there. I've got a lot of listening ahead of me. Congratulations Frank! http://www.lala.com/#album/720857415388255140/Frank_Kimbrough/Rumors Quote
marcello Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 I have to buy this recording. Frank is one of the true originals and never fails me for a great listening experience. Quote
WorldB3 Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 I am all over this, I really enjoyed the previous Frank Kimbrough Trio recordings Lullabluebye and Play. Quote
AllenLowe Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 (edited) I'm disappointed - I thought this thread was going to be about some secret about Frank. I guess it's enough that he's such a good pianist. Still, I was thinking National Inquirer. Edited April 1, 2010 by AllenLowe Quote

Tom 1960 Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Hey Frank! Looks like you'll be playing at The Falcon in Marlboro, NY on Saturday May 28. I hope to get the opportunity to see you perform. Maybe say hello. It's a real nice venue. Quote
randyhersom Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Grabbed it from eMusic, loving it on first listen. Well done, Frank. Quote
WorldB3 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Frank, This is beautiful. You can tell that you have had this band together for a while and you all really listen to each other in the improvisations. It's a gem. Well done. Quote
