BERIGAN Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Did we do this before???? Man, my memory sucks, but I can hear that sound at almost 43.... http://theoatmeal.com/quizzes/sound/ Quote
jeffcrom Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I'm not doing this one. It would just depress me. Quote
porcy62 Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Wow!!! I can hear it at 47, now I can kill the first one who doubt about my audiophile's skills! Quote
JohnS Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I'm not doing this one. It would just depress me. Give it a try. I can hear it, and I'm an oldie! Quote
porcy62 Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 But can you hear 'Paul is dead' on the background? Quote
brownie Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I'm not doing this one. It would just depress me. I did it. Now I'm depressed Quote
Dave James Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I can hear it. That's good news since my S.O. claims my hearing is all but gone. This confirms what I've been telling her; that my internal settings are simply incompatible with the frequency of her voice. Quote
ejp626 Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Yes, we did this before. I couldn't hear it, but it turned out that my headphones were turned off. When that was fixed, I could hear it just fine. Well past 25. Quote
Van Basten II Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Currently 39, I'm blaming my speakers Quote
jeffcrom Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I'm not doing this one. It would just depress me. Give it a try. I can hear it, and I'm an oldie! After 28 years in front of band students and 30 years of gigs, I don't want to be reminded of the frequency range I've lost - I'm all too aware. Quote
Dan Gould Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Can't hear it at 44 and I am pretty certain I wouldn't have heard it at 14 either. Quote
rostasi Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 The partials are louder than the single 14k sine tone that I think that they want you to try hearing, so I guess, yeah, I can hear it at age 51. Quote
.:.impossible Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 had to turn it off immediately. heavy-handed. while i have tried listening to her solo works, i definitely prefer her with other musicians. this is a good one. Quote
mikelz777 Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Played it on my computer speakers and couldn't hear a thing. My 13 year-old daughter could hear it and found it really annoying. I then plugged in the headphones and could hear it just fine. Quote
rostasi Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 this is a good one. Yes it is! I think Sachiko plays to all age groups with her tones. I've always tried to add some upper-range frequencies to my work, but it has to be 16 to 19K to be fully effective for those that I call the "teenage ampst" generation. Quote
trane_fanatic Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 34 with tinnitus and I can hear it very clearly. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 52. Hear what?I'll be damned; the speakers were turned down. I can hear it fine, and it's not the highest frequency I can hear, I'm sure. Did they do this right? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 I wondered that too. I'm almost 66 and had no problem. I should mention, in 1965 when the army was trying to draft me, a hearing test was part of the physical. You put on headphones and you were to raise a hand when you could hear something, right or left. I kept both hands raised the whole time to the consternation of the test administrator. I told him I could hear a low level hum cycling throughout and he gave up. Quote
rostasi Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 oh sheeesh...i just realized what it is: "Download the MP3 directly" ok, so much for that test... Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Good catch. But that's what the kids and some "idiots" listen to. Quote
