One disc crammed with the usual swinging fun, silliness, and easy pickins to give your mind a break after a couple of enjoyably challenging BFTs. The fact that I'm being a selfish bastard and commandeering the month of March JUST BECAUSE I'm turning 40 WILL be worked into the theme of the BFT!

Happy birthday to ME, dammit!!! :g

Bigness -- welcome to the hell of your fourth decade. It truly sucks. Count me in for the BFT, and don't break a hip.

Well, I just looked at the BFT 72 discussion thread, and it looks like the four tracks I liked are four of the five you disliked, so this is going to be just right up my alley, right? :o)

Download, please.

Hoping for more stragglers to sign-up and putting the finishing touches on the project. I promise, it will be worth the wait and is nothing like no other BFT that's come before. All kindsa fun, games, & groovy tunes for ya! I hope to have it ready by Friday, for download no later than Saturday.

FOR THE FOLKS WHO WANT DISCS: At this point, the BFT runs slightly longer than 80 minutes. I've been trying for two days now to find that one song to remove, and I sure didn't help my case this morning when I remembered one more song that I *ABSOLUTELY* wanted to add and couldn't believe I'd forgotten about it until now. SO, assuming I leave everything as it is, would it be alright if I loaded the CDs with the mp3 files instead of the WAV files? Most players these days play mp3 CDs anyway and even if yours doesn't, you can always create your own regular CD from the mp3s.

That is fine.

Hi Al,

please send me a download link.

I have to admit my time for listening is limited these days, so I will not promise anything, but I would hate to miss any of these compilations, and yours will the special fun, I'm sure.

My life has changed a bit - I quit the Kurdish band late in 2008 to organize our move and establish ourselves in the new home, which was an important process as I had to give up my parents' house, but this and the loss of one teaching commitment meant five grand less income last year. To compensate for this I considered taking a day job, and when a friend of mine asked me to sub for him last month I accepted, and after that they asked me to join the team - I jumped at the opportunity. So now I'm busy with this new job two to three days a week, the rest is spent teaching, rehearsing the new jazz band and accompanying a dance improvisation class, and researching and writing a book I want to have finished by autumn - this leaves so little time for listening to anything not associated with the book that I even consider taking a break from BFT activities, but as I said I would hate to miss a disc. I'll do my best to keep up with the proceedings but will rather be limited to watch from the sidelines, I'm afraid ... but I sure want to listen to Big Al's big birthday blind fold test .....

Thanks for your understanding ... wink.gif
