Van Basten II
Saw in my email this news item from JazzLoft a bundle of Waldron recordings from the label Slam, can't really say i'm familiar with this label. Anyway the bundle includes * Max Roach / Mal Waldron: Explorations... to the Nth Degree (2-CD Set) * Steve Lacy / Mal Waldron: Let's Call This... Esteem * George Haslam / Mal Waldron: Two New * Mal Waldron / George Haslam: Waldron/Haslam Sounds tasty, anybody can comment on those titles ? The 4 titles are sold for less than 40 bucks https://www.jazzloft.com/p-51564-special-5-cd-bundle-explorationesteemtwo-newwaldron-haslam.aspx
fent99
Slam is George Haslam's label. I have a couple of these. Lets Call this ...Esteem and Two New. I really like the Lacy, not excellent sound but fine if I remember and Lacy/Waldron are always good value. Two New is fine but the other is supposed to be better? http://www.slamproductions.net/
JSngry
* Max Roach / Mal Waldron: Explorations... to the Nth Degree (2-CD Set) * Steve Lacy / Mal Waldron: Let's Call This... Esteem I've got these, and hey, if you don't, here's a good chance to. No reason not to, really. Good stuff, not anybody's mountaintop moment or anything, but still...
