brownie
Extensive and informative article by David Hajdu on Fred Hersch in the New York Times Magazine section Sunday. The article is illustrated by photos including two from the great Lee Fiedlander.
Lazaro Vega
Great piece. He performed at Hope College in Holland, MI, last Feb (which we're happy to have a recording of at Blue Lake) and will be back there again on Feb. 24th. Hersch enjoys a long standing relationship with the music programs at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and Hope College.
AllenLowe
just as an add-on, I highly recommend Hajdu's recent collection, Heroes and Villains - as a matter of fact, a letter of mine to the Book Review, about the book, will appear tomorrow. Bol
Fred Hersch is one of the musicians whose recordings I just don't get. But this article made me admire him as a person. And maybe I should try his music again one of these days.

Alexander
I own several Hersch albums and admire him tremendously. I'll have to check out what he's been doing lately...
