thedwork
(all reasonable offers considered...) hey all. i've been throwing away jewel cases and keeping my cds in "case logic" cases for about 15 years now, so i don't have the "backer cards" for any of these cds. but i of course kept the liner notes when there were any. some of these were 'advance' copies and are marked as such on the disc. unless otherwise noted, all cds will come in a new 'slim' case w/ original liner notes (the first few may get regular size jewel cases). all of these cds play fine w/ no skips. there may be marks but no serious scratches, and most are very clean. check or paypal is fine - prefer check. Add $2 for shipping in the U.S. for 1st cd, and 25 cents for each after that in your order. But: Any purchase over $20 in the U.S. gets free shipping! The Magnificent Goldberg
I'm interested in the Gerald Wilson and the Erykah Badu. When was the Wilson recorded? Not doing Paypal is a bit awkward for foreign buyers. I can't just send you a cheque. Suggestions on how to pay, which don't involve a $45 charge by my bank, would be welcome MG

J.A.W.
I don't know if you ship abroad, but overseas customers might still prefer paying through PayPal. It's by far the safest international payment method, and sending cash across the pond is a hazardous undertaking. Besides, in the euro zone changing euros for dollars often isn't cheap. Checks and International Money Orders are no longer used in many euro countries, and international bank transfers to destinations outside the euro zone are very expensive. Minor point: I'd call Herb Alpert and Frank Sinatra's Reprise recordings pop, not jazz. Edited January 27, 2010 by J.A.W.

thedwork
hey guys. i just started the process of setting up a paypal account. since i don't have an online banking passcode i couldn't set it up 'instantly.' i have to check for tiny deposits in my bank account over the next 2-3 days and then go back into my paypal account to confirm the deposit amounts. seems pretty cool. if anyone wants to send a check, feel free to let me know. but it's cool that i'm catching up to the 21st century and am setting up this paypal thing! i guess i shoulda done it a while back. i will PM people and mark certain items on 'hold' until i get my shit straight. i'll bump the thread when my account is a go. hopefully it'll just stay up glad there's interest. it is a lot of good stuff for reasonable money. seeline
thedwork, once you're past the awkward phase with PayPal (checking for the deposits), it'll be a piece of cake. I vastly prefer using it to having checks mailed to me, or vice versa.
Cliff Englewood
and sending cash across the pond is a hazardous undertaking. No it's not, not from my experience anyway, I've sent and received cash from points all over the world and have never once had a problem, it always gets there. seeline
I'm doing OK - thanks for asking! Hope all's well with you. As for those checks... well, I never thought I'd be a convert to electronic banking (and I still write the odd check on paper), but I've joined the other camp on this. Looks like you've never bought anything on Ebay - it's the primary means of payment there. I think that's why most folks have Paypal accounts, even if they don't use them much. As others have said, Paypal is great for purchases made outside one's home country. No need to hassle with the fees, etc. that are part of most banks' ways of doing this. riverrat
I'll chime in RE paypal. Some aspects of it annoy me, e.g. some of their fees. And I know some people have had bad experiences with it. But time is worth something too, and paypal saves me a LOT of time. I carry a balance there with my various CD and other eBay sales, and just work off of that with any purchases. I think it is a great service, highly recommended overall.. On that note, please hold the Oregon CD for me! I can send a check if need be, but would prefer to just use paypal

Big Al
I just realized your avatar is from A THOUSAND CLOWNS. Man, I *love* that movie! "Hello, is this good news or money? No? Goodbye."
riverrat
paypal sucks, it's one of the most blatant examples of the kind of Vertical Integration that should be illegal in this country (it's owned by Ebay)... Yup, I agree. For over 2 years, I attempted to crush paypal by refusing to use them. After that apparently failed and they were still thriving, I reluctantly set up a free account, but refused to allow them to take any of my money through fees for accepting payments from credit cards. More recently, having accepted that I was unlikely to bring them to their knees, I knuckled under and set up a "Premier" or some such account so I can accept payments any way a person wants to pay. I just have to fork over 2.9% of every payment. But paypal is so convenient and saves me so much time and hassle, with both buying and selling online, that it is still worth it to me. I hate to admit it but it is true...
