scottb Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) The Hastings by my house has John Coltrane Fearless Leader and the Sideman box for $19.99 each. 6 discs in the leader box and 5 in the sideman box, great price. Both with nice sound, nice book and packaging. So check your Hastings! Lots of single discs are suddenly $5.99 as well. Looks like they are clearing inventory. With tax, paypal fees and shipping I could probably ship it to anyone who wants it for $30. Edited January 24, 2010 by scottb Quote

Shrdlu Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 May we have an explanation, oh fellow tenor player? Quote
JSngry Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Bob & Don Hastings! Elroy Carpenter & Dr. Bob Hughes. They're brothers, you know. Quote
Shrdlu Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Ah, that explains it, lol. Wtf are they? I musta missed something here. Quote
JSngry Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Brothers named Hastings (as in "So check your Hastings!") who have both had careers in TV. Don & Bob have never struck me as the Trane types, but check them anyway. You never know. Quote
sidewinder Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Didn't think there was anything on it about cheap Coltrane boxes Quote
Quincy Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Brothers named Hastings (as in "So check your Hastings!") who have both had careers in TV. Don & Bob have never struck me as the Trane types, but check them anyway. You never know. As a kid I used to see Dr. Bob on a little b&w in the summertime when I'd have lunch w/ my mom. The finest doctor in Oakdale if I remember right. I see him owning a "gag gift" copy of Cattin' because of the song "Anatomy." "Vodka" may have added to the fun factor from the gift giver's perspective. Quote
GA Russell Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 My sisters used to watch. Wasn't Bob married to Lisa? Quote
JSngry Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 For a little bit. They had a kid named Tom who went through some serious changes during the divorce. Much (melo)drama, iirc. Quote
gmonahan Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Didn't think there was anything on it about cheap Coltrane boxes I'm sure Trane was there. According to his most die-hard fans, he's immortal. gregmo Quote
