One of the best African music blogs around, Likembe, has started featuring contemporary kora music made for the W. African market.

Definitely worth checking out!

Here's one of the K7 covers he's posted:

* Edited to add: while I'm not crazy about the arrangements on Tata's cassette, I like his playing and singing a lot. "Duwa" is super.

This was also mentioned on the "What are you listening to now ..." thread.

Such a great shame. A true master and a great collaborator too. I was lucky to see him just once with his Orchestra

I'm also now going to read this entire thread, looks very interesting
