Matthew
Honestly, I do try to fool around and get the answer on my own, but I cannot figure this one out. I search for something, but I only get the first 200 posts on the subject, and I cannot figure out how to get beyond that amount. Is there a way to search a topic from day one of the board? Niko
i use google (with site:organissimo.org in the query)... like this morning i was looking for gene ammons threads and the more meaningful ones didn't come up because the name is mentioned too often here ;-) if one could get at least the second 200, third 200 etc :-)
The Magnificent Goldberg
I just tried a Gene Ammons search. If you're looking for threads mainly about him, you want to check the box that says "titles only". So I did that and got Gene Shaw, Gene Quill and Albert Ammons and loads of other things - including threads about genes. 3 pages altogether. So I searched on "Gene Ammons" and got eleven threads, going back to 2004. Looks like that's what you want. MG

I have wasted a bunch of time looking for a discussion about this one. Live At Newport 58, Horace Silver I can remember it being discussed here but can't find it. I share your frustration. It seems to me that some board members are much more adept than I at using the search function. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I used Google Advanced Search to find it, using "Silver" and "Newport" in the "all these words" section and www.organissimo.org in the "search within this site or domain" section. I could have narrowed it down more by putting in a year. There are other hits about listening to this on the radio (I think).
