John L Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) I love this LP, and miss it now that I am away from my LP collection. Has it ever appeared on CD or in digital form. I can't recall ever running across it. There is some great Pres here, especially on an extended version of Ghost of a Chance. Edited January 4, 2010 by John L Quote
brownie Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 This does not seem to have been reissued on CD? A wonderful LP indeed! Quote
thirdtry Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 The four songs on this LP have been issued on CD, just not on a legit label. The songs are available on Disc 7 of a 10CD JATP box set (I won't link to it on Amazon but it's very easy to find). I would love to see them issued on CD by Verve. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 I remember when this lp series was being assembled by my friend Bob Porter. We met in a hotel lobby and he shouted (as usual when addressing me) "Put these headphones on Nessa and listen to some Prez no one else has heard". God I miss not seeing Bob regularly. Quote

John L Posted August 11, 2013 Author Report Posted August 11, 2013 I do not believe that this concert was on any of the JATP boxes. Since I started this thread 3.5 years ago, the concert actually appeared on iTunes as part of a strangely titled JATP package. I made a post about it at the time on the Lester Young Corner thread. The MP3 of the track Norgran blues was defective, however. I informed iTunes about that, which might be why it appears to no longer be available there. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Probably true and the music will be lost in the corporate underbelly. If you want the music, it's not available from the owner, then you have some permission to download from GOD. Quote
medjuck Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 What's the running time on Ghost of Chance? Quote
thirdtry Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Disc 7 tracks 1-4 are the contents of the LP I believe. Edited August 12, 2013 by thirdtry Quote
