brownie
Good to get fresh news from Louis Smith: From the Ann Arbor.com website today: Louis Smith tribute
Lazaro Vega
Good to hear he's still coming back, especially on the horn. Had some very enlightening experiences with him at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, including a marvelous quartet concert with pianist Eddie Russ. Louis kept laughing to the band under the applause, "I'm too old, I'm just getting to old," but he sounded great -- right out of that Fats Navarro/Clifford Brown tradition. king ubu
That's good news! I've only got his two Blue Notes and the Steeplechase "Prancin'" and like all three albums a lot! Had no idea he was still around... he's not nearly as well-known as he should be!
JohnS
A favourite of mine. Sorry to hear about his stroke but good news he's still active. A well deserved tribute.
