sonnymax Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "GD" and what are "Dick's Picks"? Quote
Bright Moments Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "GD" and what are "Dick's Picks"? Jerry Garcia is spinning in his grave. GD is Grateful Dead. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 And Dick's Picks are a series of live releases from the Grateful Dead, most of the time complete shows. I have all of the pre-1978 ones (my cut off point for Dead collecting) and they're recommended! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Man, I wish I had more bread right now - I'd be on these Dick's Picks like a fly on shit. Quote
Quincy Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Jerry Garcia is spinning in his grave. I don't think so. Not because he was Mr. Mellow, but he was cremated and some ashes were dumped in the Ganges, some more in SF Bay. Leave the spinning to the granola girls. Quote
sonnymax Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "GD" and what are "Dick's Picks"? Jerry Garcia is spinning in his grave. GD is Grateful Dead. My sentiments toward the GD are best summed up by this joke: Q: What did one Deadhead say to the other when they ran out of acid? A: Man, this music sucks! Of course, if other people dig it, that's cool. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) I've been out of acid for thirty years. Maybe the music will start sucking one of these days. Edited December 16, 2009 by jazzbo Quote
AmirBagachelles Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 yo son(ny max): Where did you get that one? Nelson Muntz? Hilarious! Just to show that my heart is in the right place, I will send you CDRs of 4-23-77, 5-9-77, 5-8-77, 7-8-78, and maybe some diapers. I'll need an address. May 1977 isn't even my favorite (1968-72, thanks for asking), but the music was powerful then and it seems to help the anti-Dead at least understand the fuss and find enjoyment during 3 hour car rides. Cheers, Dan Quote
Chalupa Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Somebody should grab the OFTV & TFTV along w/ DP12. The China>Rider on DP12 is the BEST VERSION EVER*, IMHO. DP1 & DP3 are also very good and are a steal at those prices. * 6/16/74 is a close 2nd. Edited December 16, 2009 by J.H. Deeley Quote
clifford_thornton Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Dan / Amir, if you'll hold stuff until after I've done my Xmas shopping, then I will PM you. Quote
AmirBagachelles Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) you mean by midnight tonight? just kidding. no one else is buying, so I don't see any issue with that. Do you want all this stuff? Wish I could figure out how to use the PM pages here... Do i need a different browser? Indeed, clifford_thornton (aka layawayguy) has taken the DP bundle. More Dead to come, including one of those 90s boxsets. Thanks Edited December 17, 2009 by AmirBagachelles Quote
AmirBagachelles Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Posted December 17, 2009 new things added today 12-17, thanks Quote

Quincy Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 DP vol 20 Sep-76, 4 discs $12 (rhino, barcoded) This one might sneak by some folks as '76 is a transitional year, but at this price it's worth it just for the "Orange Tango Jam" on disc 4. One of things Jerry made up and never played again. Quote
riverrat Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 PM coming RE DP vol 20 Sep-76, 4 discs $12 (rhino, barcoded) DP vol 28 Feb-73, 4 discs $19 DP vol 34 Nov-77, 3 discs $17 Quote
