Hi Jim,

I'm having that white space problem, too, with your posts. Very long segment of white space until the end.

Was trying to find an older post yesterday, and wasn't able to locate the tab that allows you to back up a subject 60 days, 90 days or longer. Is that still around somewhere?

Think it was JAW who found out how to take care of the problem, if you use the latest IE version, you should have besides your browser a button that looks like a ripped sheet, press on it. It should take care of the problem

Not seeing that. Next to the icon you click to get started with Explorer?

Only when you use IE8. The button is only visible when you visit a site that has compatibility problems with IE8 and it can be found next to the address bar at the top.

I've been browsing at home with Opera for almost two weeks now and there are no problems at all. Have gotten used to the new design - all very good, in my opinion!

(I guess the problems will start again with IE7 at work... but I don't make think of work yet!)

The 'Insert Media' functionality works for files hosted at Youtube , but it doesn't work for files hosted at DivShare . I've tried 'media' , 'code' and 'html' tags to no avail .

I'm having the same issue with topics in which Jim posts (giant blank space/forum freezing). IE8; not sure what version of Windows (citrix-operated, fwiw).

I was having this trouble at both home and work. I resolved it at home by switching to Firefox - which I like a lot.

At work, all of our computers are locked down insofar as downloading is concerned - so I did not have that option. We're using Internet Explorer 7 and I get the posts with the huge blank spaces, forum freezing and all the words of a post aligned vertically along the left of the screen.

Today, I noticed the little box in the lower left corner that says IP.Board. It's a drop-down box and gives the option to switch to IP.Board Lo-Fi. I tried that - and the board definitely takes on a Lo-Fi appearance - but all of those aforementioned posting abnormalities disappeared. :cool::party:

So just how does one embed an mp3 file ?

As I said , I've already tried wrapping the link in various tags , but all I get is a clickable link not a Flash Player which should appear like this :

Divshare_Flash_Player.jpg

Well, to test the media tags as a regular member, I logged in under my wife's account and posted the above. She's a regular member like you and as you can see, it works fine. So I don't know what to tell you.

What is the link address of the file you're trying to embed?

Yes html posting is disabled because it's too risky.

I don't get what you're trying to do. Are you trying to embed that link above? That's not a media file, it's just a link, so it's going to be treated as a link.

I'm trying to embed the flash player that you see when you go to that link . HTML coding can't be the only way right , since youtube videos can be embedded by wrapping media tags around a Youtube URL ?

I don't think we have code for divshare.

In your Admin Control Panel you could make a custom BBcode tag for it like this couldn't you ? :

[divshare]{SIMPLETEXT}[/divshare]

HTML replacement code for the tag would be :

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="335" height="28" id="divplaylist">

<param name="movie" value="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist?myId={SIMPLETEXT}" />

<embed src="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist?myId={SIMPLETEXT}" width="335" height="28" name="divplaylist" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">

</embed>

</object>

You could even create a button in the post editor for it if you wanted , but that wouldn't be necessary for me .
