Van Basten II Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 (edited) Brian Eno Fountains of Wayne (after all, they already have a good Christmas song in "I Want An Alien for Christmas") Cyrus Chestnut It must be understood up front that none of them can be allowed to cover "Little Drummer Boy." Chesnut has already one that is quite enjoyable. And believe me, Christmas music and enjoyable is something i say in the same sentence as often as Bon Jovi and great. A Lark Ascending Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 The chap who started it all. After all, he could sing from a first person perspective. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted December 19, 2009 Author Report Posted December 19, 2009 Well, it's the thought that counts! Happy Christmas anyway! MG Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 The Pretenders! I'll second that! '2000 Miles' is about as close to a modern Christmas classic as they get. How about a Xmas album from David Bowie?? His duet with Bing was da bomb! Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 OK, sticking to the sirit if not the letter of the Q, I think Grant Green and Albert Ayler woulda/coulda/shoulda made great Xmas albums, based on their great but v. different interp's of spirituals. Of course if I made one I could try for GG Meets AA at the office Xmas party, and fail miserably no doubt but it would be fun anyway. Quote
