Trying to make the case that the public's reaction to Tiger Woods' escapades is racially based misses the mark completely. What really pisses people off is that they were hoodwinked by someone they thought was worthy of their trust, perhaps more so than any other figure in the history of professional sports. Tiger spent millions carefully crafting an image that we, as fans, completely bought into. So, yes, I think we would be having this conversation regardless of race. This is a simply a case of being let down by someone who we were absolutely, positively convinced we could trust. The reaction is more visceral because that trust has been violated in such an unseemly and self-indulgent manner.
