Larry Kart Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 I've got a Mac with IPhoto and would like to make an image from my IPhoto library (if that's the right term) into my new Profile picture. But when I go to "change picture" on Facebook, the only options I get are the photo that's already my profile photo and another image that I don't want. How do I get the photo I want as my new profile picture into a place where I can choose it? Remember, in this area at least, I'm an idiot. Quote
Quincy Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Let's see if this does the trick. 1) Click on your profile photo. 2) You should be on page that let's you edit your photo. There will be choices above the box that have your profile pictures. The last choice to the right on top of the box with your profile photo(s) will be "Change Profile Picture." Click that. 3) Now you will see a new page and near the top is "Upload Picture." Below that are the words "You can upload a JPG, GIF or PNG file." Click the button that says Choose File just below that. 4) Now you can select the photo from your computer. You'll want to (likely) go to Pictures>iPhoto Library>wherever else this picture is. Upload picture. Um, let's see if this enough information for you as I don't actually have any more photos of myself that I want on my Facebook page. Quote
Christiern Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Go to iPhoto and select the one you wish to use. Then, in iPhoto, go to the drop-down "File" menu and select "Export". A window appears, giving you several options as to size and quality. Make your choice and click on the "Export" button in the lower right corner. This brings another window wherein you can decide where to place the photo— a folder (you have the opt. to create a new one) or, perhaps your desktop. Now you know where to find the photo when FaceBook asks you to upload it. It should by default be a jpg file. I hope this helps. Quote
