I'm just listening to Eddie Harris' "The In Sound". Cedar Walton plays so great on all of this album that I just have to play every track twice!

Walton and Harris were a great team, and when you add Carter and Higgins ........ 

This one was among my first hundred jazz LPs, purely by accident as I pulled it from a cutout bin out of pure curiosity, but it made me love all those guys. The Tender Storm is rather underrated compared to Mean Greens or The In Sound, but it belongs to the same series.

I sure miss Cedar Walton’s annual weekly visits to Ronnie Scott’s from back in the day !

Been listening to some of those ‘Magic Triangle’ releases over the past few days. That Walton/Higgins combination was unbeatable.

He was a regular with a local jazz promoter, too. I was there every year. Saw him perform more often than any other jazz musician, locals included.
