bebopbob Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Although I know the Mosaic set includes all of J. J.'s Columbia recordings, has any of this material been issued on CD in Japan aside from Dial J.J.5 and Blue Trombone? Unfortunately the J.J. in Person LP is only available from Collectables on a poorly remastered CD which also includes Jay and Kai with six additional trombones-a little too much on the trombones here. Would be interested to know if J.J. in Person, Satin Doll and First Place have ever been issued on compact disc in Japan or Europe. Quote
htr Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I recently picked up two of his Columbia recordings on used vinyl and I agree that this is primo music that Sony should be lobbied to release domestically. Quote
John Tapscott Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Why not buy the Mosaic set? I plan to as soon as I have enough money saved in my "secret" Mosaic "envelope". About half way there already. Quote
J.A.W. Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Why not buy the Mosaic set? The JJJ Mosaic is one of their best in my opinion. Some of JJJ's best work is included in that wonderful set Quote
Late Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Hey, I have a "secret envelope" too! And it's dedicated ... um, was dedicated to the Johnson Mosaic ... until I accidentally raided it for a Cadence order last week. Quote
Tjazz Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 J.J. Inc was re-issued on CD by Columbia (USA). Quote
