Joe G Posted March 16, 2004 Author Report Posted March 16, 2004 Update: My wife and I just got back from city hall, where it turns out that they did catch the poacher. The cops found the taxi with the nine point buck in the back. It hadn't even been dressed out at that point, indicating that the guy shot it just for the rack. He's apparently accepting the charges of having the loaded weapon in his vehicle (the city is making that charge), as well as two DNR charges. Justice prevails!!! Quote
wesbed Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 (edited) Thanks for the update, man. Maybe the justice system does work some of the time? I don't mean to turn this into a political thread (my intention is not to go there). But, the justice system dealt, recently, with your poacher, Martha Stewart, and Diana Ross' problems with driving while intoxicated down in Tucson. Sometimes I am positively surprised. RainyDay Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 My cousin and her family just moved back to E. Lansing from SF. I'm sure she will be thrilled to hear about his. Glad they caught the bastards. Trophy killing is obscene. Quote
chris olivarez Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 I'm not a hunter but if its done for food I don't have a problem with it.However I do not care for trophy hunters and I do not care for poachers unless they're faced with dire circumstances-like starvation. Poachers who hunt just for the rack are just about the lowest form of life there is. Quote
