There was an item this afternoon on CNBC that Michael Jackson's new CD which was released last week hit #1 in the UK yesterday. Despite recent revelations over here, his British CD sales have not suffered at all.

This happened last year I recall when he was in a spot of bother. Can't recall over what.

I quote this merely to say that the phrase "a spot of bother" just seems REALLY cool to me. Much like recent hip-hop lingo, I could probably never actually say it myself without sounding totally stupid, but it sure sounds cool coming from the source. Seriously.

I don't recall it gaining any coverage on American websites (pacé the wider media), but Paedophiles have been the source of much hysteria in the UK; it isn't something the UK could be said to be lax about. In one notorious incident, the external walls of a Paediatricians apartmernt had the word Paedo sprayed on to it.
