blind-blake Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Did I miss something? I enjoyed his music posts. And although I disagree with most of his political views, I never saw him get nasty with them.
The Red Menace Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I will simply say that comrade Bixie got the axe!!!
The Red Menace Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 like Trotsky - I had nothing to do with that!!!
AllenLowe Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 that's ok - personally I blame Joseph Losey.
papsrus Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Did I miss something? I enjoyed his music posts. And although I disagree with most of his political views, I never saw him get nasty with them. Maybe I never stumbled into the right threads, but I rarely read any comments from him about music. Mosaic thread once in a while was about it. He pretty much set up as a squatter in the political threads, from what I can tell.
Dan Gould Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Johnny is pretty much a squatter in the political threads, too, (excepting the times that he is promoting his band's efforts) so I hope Bixie wasn't tossed for having political views that don't jibe with the overwhelming leftist tilt of most O-people. I'm going to assume he went too far, got a few warnings, then got shitcanned for something other than the content of his political beliefs.
AllenLowe Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 (edited) I don't know - twice he complimented me on things that I posted - I guess I'm just the Mahatma Ghandi of Organissimo. of course, look what happened to him - Edited October 6, 2009 by AllenLowe
Noj Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Bixie's political posts served only to antagonize others, not to spur meaningful discussion. He was a far right lunatic fringe troll of the lowest order.

Well, Jim of course can speak to that if he chooses, but I'd say that's a safe assumption. I'd be surprised if anyone concluded he was turfed out for his political views -- whatever they were.
Free For All Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Jim's board, Jim's call. Other than Joe & Randy, the rest of us are guests. I'll abide by whatever Jim wants to do on his board. I always have the option to not hang out here. That seems fair to me.

Dave James Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I thought several of Bixieland's political posts were highly inappropriate. Some fairly accusatory Nazi related stuff as I recall. I'm not much in favor of censorship, but as others have said, this is Jim's world, we just live in it. Up over and out.

Jim Alfredson Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I make the assumption that everyone is here in good faith. His tactics were disingenuous, dishonest, and disrespectful of the intelligence of the community and I got tired of putting up with it.
Big Al Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Stuff like this makes me SO glad I locked myself out of the political forum. It also makes me pray for Jim's mental health, cuz he has to deal with that shit on a regular basis.

Cliff Englewood Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I must say I am always a bit suspect about people who come on here and post mainly in the politics form, there must be loads of purely political fourms on the WWW, why go to a Jazz board to do so, Bixieland never really posted in the music threads and when did it was usually asking fairly ill informed questions.IMHO.
7/4 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I think someone invited him over here because they thought it would be a good place to troll.
Chuck Nessa Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 He came into Jim's house and pissed on Jim and his family. Let it die here.
AllenLowe Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 it's like the old saying: it's better to be pissed off than pissed on -
Brownian Motion Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I think someone invited him over here because they thought it would be a good place to troll. Agree.
