papsrus Posted September 28, 2009 Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 Do you have some kind of government scrapping system over there to help the ailing motor industry? We turned in our ten year old Daihatsu (just qualified by two days!) for a new Nissan Micra auto 1.2 a few months ago and got two grand off for a car that wasn't worth anything much really. 56 mpg. My wife really likes it. MG They had a "cash for clunkers" federal program over the summer, but it has expired. The gas mileage on my Miata is very good (when it's running), so it wouldn't have qualified under that program, which was designed to get people to trade in their gas-guzzlers for new, fuel efficient vehicles. Otherwise, I think it's left to individual auto dealerships to devise their own trade-in deals. Quote
jazzbo Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 If I had to buy a car and one that seats five, I'd go with the Chevy HHR. It's just . . . cool. Especially in the panel van (but that won't fit five, but it would be the one I'd buy.) Quote
