ghost of miles Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 Wasn't able to see it--planning to catch the rerun this evening at midnight. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I've been watching this show from the beginning and have no issues whatsoever with the fourth season, thus far (two episodes at this point). Totally digging it. Quote

BruceH Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I'm digging it too. In this episode I actually felt a little bad for Roger. That doesn't happen too often. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 So far this season I really haven't felt as compelled to watch as last seasons have been, but I'm enjoying Don's frustration. Quote
catesta Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) So far I don't have any major issues with this season although I do miss some of the old characters. The Lucky Strike guy forcing Roger to dress up like Santa Claus was interesting. Dude obviously knows he has them by the balls. I expect the story lines and writing to smooth out along the way. ghost of miles Posted August 14, 2010 Author Report Posted August 14, 2010 Emmy Mad Men spoof ads pulled till voting ends I enjoyed the one they linked to in the article. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Tonight's episode (Aug. 15, 2010) was IMHO the best so far this season. It felt like two hours compressed into one. Can't wait to watch it again tomorrow! Quote
ajf67 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I'm clearly in the minority here regarding this season's episodes. But, I enjoyed tonight and last week, so I'm hopeful. Quote

Yep, it was a good one. When did Peggy become so confident? Previews for next week look really good. Quote

medjuck Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I really liked the old couple in the hall at the end of the show. I wonder if this was the actor: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-music-man-20100816,0,5301372.story Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 "Did you get any pears?... Did you get any pears?" That was very David Lynch, as was the scene last season in which Joan played the accordion. Quote

catesta Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Last episode was brilliant. Betty is off her rocker. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Bets has been off her rocker for a WHILE! Do you guys think Sterling was really that hellbent against the Japanese clients? Or was it Sterling trying to assert himself. . . he's just been sitting off to the side with Lucky Strike, and belittled by them at that, while the others are hustling and bustling new business. . .. Quote
John Tapscott Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 I thought this was great episode. Watched it at 10 PM, then again at 11. Bets sure is a piece of work. Yes, I think Sterling was really hateful against the Honda guys. I laughed at Don's devious plan to get the Honda account and how it worked in spite of Roger. Only Draper could have pulled that off. I fear for Roger. I think something quite nasty is about to befall him. He seems to be getting a little more unhinged with each episode. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Okay. More and more I see these guys as more and more devious and shifty (even Lane is joining the dark side!) and look for hidden motivations even when (or perhaps MOST when) their actions seem to speak loudly for themselves. Quote
John Tapscott Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Sterling's hatred for the Japanese seemed to be rooted in some specific incident from the war involving a friend or fellow service-man that I couldn't quite pick up on. Quote
ghost of miles Posted August 24, 2010 Author Report Posted August 24, 2010 I loved the shot of Peggy riding round and round the soundstage on the Honda bike. Quote
BruceH Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 What did you all think of last night's episode? Personally, I thought it was great. Loved the scenes of young furrier Don trying to get into the ad biz through Roger. Quote
jazzbo Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Possibly the best show this season, in my estimation. I wonder if Roger is going to live out the season? It seems as if they're setting us up for an incident. . . . My secret hope is that Don will can that lazy Art Director, and Sal will reappear. Don is getting sloppy. Quote
