Jim Alfredson Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 By the way, Randy Gelispie now makes his home right here in Lansing, MI... my hometown. He's such a nice cat. I love to hear him play! Quote
Guest WINGY (I STAY BOMBED) Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 It's not "On The Stairs". I'm listening to "Consciousness" right now and that's not the head. Where's BRESHNEV?? WINGY Quote
Jim Dye Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 He disagreed with a decision to ban a member here a while ago and hasn't been back. I hope he decides to return. Quote

Jazzmoose Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 As I probably will be for a while. Let me know when the dust settles after the explosion... Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 As I probably will be for a while. Let me know when the dust settles after the explosion... What's that supposed to mean? Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 What's that supposed to mean? Just a thoughtless post in haste; sorry. Please ignore it. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Thanks for the last message Mr. Moose - I was "very afraid". By the way I love your current avatar. What the fuck happened to Tyrone? You certainly didn't put him on THAT train! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Blame the usual suspects! The avatar was a gift from AfricaBrass; looks slightly different from the original, eh? Quote
gdogus Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 (edited) We have to keep open doors to new members with new thoughts and personalities and ideas. Imagine what it must be like for a new member to enter our halls...they see a very tight community and they might not feel that they belong. They might also feel inhibited about expressing their personalies and ideas, especially if it might run counter to the prevailing Zeitgeist. We should welcome everybody. Given that, I think I'll try hanging out here for a while, if that okay with you good folks... Yes, something of an AAJ refugee here. A few of you guys may know me, and to those who don't yet - hey now! Edited November 25, 2003 by gdogus Quote
AfricaBrass Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Welcome, gdogus! I hope you enjoy your accommodations here and have a pleasant stay. Quote
wesbed Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I'm remembering when most of us here, on the Organissimo board, were refugees, Blue Note refugees. We crashed a couple of boards (including the AAJ) before b3-er setup his own board here. Yeah, I suppose we should allow AAJ refugees to walk through our grounds and see what they think of them. P.D. Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Dan, tell Bill Fenohr to stop back in too! I used to communicate with Bill ( Road Guy ) a lot, but haven't heard from him for a long time. I wrote emails to him which were unanswered. Anybody know if all is well with him? Quote
jazzbo Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Welcome! Glad you're here and keep on posting! I too miss Bill a lot; used to do a lot of corresponding and haven't heard back from him in some time. Jim Dye had been more in contact with him, and several months ago let me know that he was doing okay. . . . Quote

grey Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 (edited) I was not here for the "Greg Affair" and did not know that Kevin Bresnahan had been a casualty of that affair---willingly so on his part if I read the thread correctly. However, let's bury the hatchet. I would like to write Kevin and welcome him back to this Board unless there is some strong objection from the Board's current members. He was always a thoughtful poster and his relationship with Michael Cuscuna was invaluable. The recent release of Sonic Boom resulted from the lobbying of Kevin at Blue Note. jazzbo Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 grey, that is a good idea and I for one would welcome Kevin's presence here again. Quote

Rooster_Ties Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 yup, me too Me too, too. But I sure wish he hadn't deleted all his threads here on this board, especially the really long one where we were discussing the new Cons (long before they actually came out). But people do stupid shit sometimes, even people who are normally otherwise good to have around. (I don't mean to dredge up the past -- and for the record, I'd generally be glad if Kevin did came back. I lobbied for him not to leave in the first place, but whatever. -_- ) Quote
J.A.W. Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 John, That is a great avatar! Love that Monk, especially now! Quote
