Session A was recorded in mono only. All others are stereo. Masters appear courtesy of Blue Note Records, a division of Capitol Records, Inc. Producer's note: Rather than program Donaldson's ten sessions in chronological order, we put them in order by musical format which has also enabled us, with two exceptions, to keep each session in tact on a single disc. The "all-star" sessions (C & F) appear on disc one. Discs two through four features his signature piano-bass-drums-congas format. Discs five and six contain the dates with a trumpet added to the front line. Quote

king ubu Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 Thanks a lot, Adrian! I think I have the Washington saved at home... too bad about the Shank/Coop and Pacific trios and Don Pullen - those I'd have loved to get (also the Donaldson, Washington, Slack maybe). Got the Brookmeyer (great one!) and Patton (still unplayed, no urge for organ jazz of late), luckily! Quote

mellowT Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Looks like the link I posted only works for some of the discographies. Some of the pages switch themes and then error out. Here's a better one from Dec 2006: http://web.archive.org/web/20061224212422/...aicrecords.com/ By the way, you can inspect all archived versions at this address. Quote
