Out2Lunch Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 In addition to descriptions of the forthcoming Roy Eldridge Mosaic set and the Pearson and Amy Selects, there's a nice piece about Duke Pearson by Michael C. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 Man, what do they do, just walk over and drop it on your porch? Quote
Late Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Weird. I got mine three days ago. Way out here! The Amy Select has Curtis with a soprano for the cover. S'nice. Quote
jlhoots Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Don't have mine yet. The mail is always slow here in New Mexico. Quote

wesbed Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 (edited) The Amy Select has Curtis with a soprano for the cover. S'nice. I don't know anything about Curtis Amy. I just now listened to the song samples from the Amy Select at the Mosaic web site. If the three sample songs are an indication, the Amy Select looks to be an excellent set of music. The cut with the organ and the valve 'bone, very nice. The third song sample with Amy on the soprano saxophone, whoo hoo!! Edited November 22, 2003 by wesbed Quote

Guest WINGY (I STAY BOMBED) Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 (edited) Did anybody bother to take a close look at the cover of this catalogue?? I DIDN'T THINK SO. Well look closely at Roy's mouthpiece. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!?? IT APPEARS TO BE SOME KIND OF PROTOTYPE. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS NO WAY THAT ANY SOUND COULD COME OUT OF THE TRUMPET!! Lazaro Vega Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Jim mentioned it was a warm-up device on the other Roy thread, the one about the covers reversed. I have a Curtis Amy session on Pacific Jazz, is it, that I picked up because it had Marcus Belgrave on it. Haven't heard it in a few years, though. Quote
