jazzbo Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 Well it says if the payment was by credit card "cut-outs" and "limited editions" will not remain in backorder status and will not be filled. Each and every one of my OJCs was a cut-out. Quote
BeBop Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 Man, this bums me. I don't recall getting any cut outs from Oldies before, and the fill rates...well, they're just low. No, I didn't order anything myself, so I'm not directly affected, but I hate to see a company that's done me right, do wrong. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 The labels mark the goods when they ship them to distributors or retailers. Quote

Oldies.com sucks.....ordered from them before......they seem to get their thrills putting hole punches and cut-out marks all the time in their stuff.....that's probably why everybody's orders are taking so long cause they have to spend all that time punching holes in barcodes instead of shipping out stuff. ......I got hole punches in stuff that I payed full price for a couple of years ago. OJC CDS even at 4.98 are not an instant money maker at that price so I don't know what the hell their thinking about. Why anybody on this board wastes their time ordering from these PORN PEDDLERS is beyond me......I got my goods last month in the REAL concord blowout sale. And yes I don't like cut out marks or hole punches or any other marks that effect any portion of the product. It detracts from the future collectiblity of the product and is uncalled for when selling to individual collectors. It's not the retailers who put holes and cutout marks in jewel cases, that's done by the record companies. (edit) Just noticed Chuck's post above about this Edited July 18, 2009 by J.A.W. Quote

(edit) Just noticed Chuck's post above about this Oldies.com is a record company.......it's called collectables records. I ordered from them once and it was there products that had hole punches in them. Talked to them over the phone about it.....they're a sleazy ass company. There so afraid somebody is gonna make 50 cents on their product. And by the way I'm not exaggerating when I say PORN PEDDLERS cause I stilll get their sale paper that's about the size of a sunday newspaper and.....well I guess that's neither here nor there, but I hate that damned company with a passion and their mutilated products. Quincy Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Huh, still no charge on the credit card for my July 5th order. Maybe I'm not going to get any porn... :rsmile: Quote
RDK Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Just received my first order: 12 of the 22 ordered. All sawcut (not surprised as these are cutouts/deletions) but no porn. Quote
mikelz777 Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Huh, still no charge on the credit card for my July 5th order. Maybe I'm not going to get any porn... :rsmile: I'm still waiting to hear anything on my order of the 5th (& 7th) as well. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm not going to get anything either. It only takes 1 disc to send a partial order, did I pick nine unavailable titles? I'll give it another day or two and if I don't hear anything, I'll give them a call to check on the status. Quote

JSngry Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Did not receive titles in bold: Lockjaw Davis Trane Whistle Lester Young In Washington D.C. 1956, Volume 5 The Jimmy Woods Sextet Conflict Sonny Stitt Stitt's Bits: BeBop Recordings 1949-1952 Thelonious Monk Monk's Music (advertised as the K-2 version, let's hope so...) it was. Jack DeJohnette The DeJohnette Complex Art Blakey Child's Dance Art Blakey Mission Eternal Cannonball Adderley Pyramid Let's see how/if this backordering thing goes down... Quote
RDK Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 It's very confusing. When I originally placed my order, it said that everything would be sent in two shipments - I presumed from different locations. Now there's no indication on the website that the order was split - but it also has my entire order shipped. I wonder if we'll all be getting split shipments or if their inventory process is just f'd up. My second order (not the rest of the first order) was apparently sent out today. Quote
mikelz777 Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Did not receive titles in bold: The Jimmy Woods Sextet Conflict Sonny Stitt Stitt's Bits: BeBop Recordings 1949-1952 Let's see how/if this backordering thing goes down... You're the second person who didn't receive 2 of the titles I ordered. That's already almost 25% of my order and it looks like the fill rate is hovering at around 50% for a lot of people reporting back on what was ordered/received so I can probably expect I'll be missing out on a few more titles. I was really hoping I would get both of the Jimmy Woods discs. To a lesser extent, the Stitt would be nice to have as well but I'd be less disappointed about not getting that one. Are these items considered "cut-outs" or "limited" which supposedly won't be kept on back order for 30 days? Quote
JSngry Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Well, they do have a notch on the lower spine, but nowhere on the receipt are any of the items marked "C/O" or "LMTD", which is supposed to be the sign that they will not be backordered. I'd not hold my breath... Quote
Tom 1960 Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 For those interested, "Conflict" is still available new through Amazon Marketplace for $8.01 plus shipping. Quote
Stefan Wood Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Seems like I have a 100% fill on my order of 50+ titles. I'll confirm when I get them tonight..... Quote

Stefan Wood Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 You're right. Missing 10% of my order, which isn't too bad. Ordered lots of blues, which might have been the reason. Quote

relyles Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Interestingly, today I received my third order that I submitted on Monday. My second order was shipped Monday and I have not received that one yet. I received 17 of the 21 items ordered. Unshiped items are: OJC 113 Kenny Dorham Quintet by Kenny Dorham Quintet (CD) $5.98 FAN 1156 Wes Montgomery Trio (20bit K2 Super Coding) by Wes Montgomery (CD) $4.98 OJC 737 The Tokyo Recital (Live) by Tommy Flanagan (CD) $5.98 OJC 10812 Goodbye by Gene Ammons (CD) $4.98 Different than the first order, this time there is a separate notice attached to the invoice regarding the Warehouse Clearance Sale that confirms that unshipped clearance sale items were backordered and that they expect most backorders will ship within 1-2 weeks of date initial order was shipped. kh1958 Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 I received my second order today--10 out of 15 titles ordered. No word at all on my first order (another 15 titles). Quote
