BeBop Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 ...or use the unavailable items to "pad" an order up to the free shipping level. Quote
TedR Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 (edited) I placed two orders (June 12 and June 16). They both arrived complete today packaged in the same box including the Gil Evans and Ten, Zoot Sims and the Gershwin Brothers and Kelly Blue SACDs. Edited June 25, 2009 by TedR Quote
ghost of miles Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Got my first order today, and received 10 of 11 titles. The odd man out was "Kelly Blue". Same here--10 out of 11 received. My odd man out was the RVG edition of RED GARLAND'S PIANO. Still, 10 CDs for $47 total...worth the wait and a bit of uncertainty. Quote
relyles Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 I received my third order today. 4 out of five items received. Missing was This is Criss! Quote
bertrand Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 So roughly what is the time between when orders are placed and when they are received? Twelve days or so? Like everyone else, I never got an e-mail confirmation. I miss the old Concord. Bertrand. Quote
Patrick Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) I placed my order on June 11. It shipped on June 19. It arrived sometime in June 23-26. All 14 items shipped, including Gil Evans & Ten and This is Criss!. Edited June 29, 2009 by Patrick Quote
bertrand Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 I got all 11 CDs today, including This Is Criss! Bertrand. Quote
relyles Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 (edited) I really do need to slow down my collecting. I did not even order This Is Criss! in my third order. It was part of my second order and I did receive it. Edited June 30, 2009 by relyles Quote
gnhrtg Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Placed my order on the 14t & received it complete (including This is Criss! and Gil Evans & Ten [anyone want my old version now, heh ]) today. Went for FedEx Express (4 days) so looks like it's taken them between 10-14 days to process & ship. Edited July 2, 2009 by gnhrtg Quote
jazzbo Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 I've gotten three of my four orders. The only one I haven't received is the first one I placed. Two show in process, including the first. Weird. Quote

What does it mean that some of the items show "Sandbox" as the label? Quote

bertrand Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Any reason not to go for this? The sandbox thing is puzzling. Are they CDRs? Do they have no case or booklet? The only time I bought from oldies.com was when I got the Grassella Oliphant and Miroslav Vitous Collectibles when they were super cheap a year or two ago. Other than the fact that they left a track off the Vitous and one chorus missing from 'The Yodel' on the Oliphant, I have no complaints When does this sale end? Bertrand. P.S. The Stitt 3-CD Prestige box is only $4.98! Quote
jazzbo Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Forget the Sandbox thing, just some sort of internal labeling for Oldies is my guess, or from the distributor. These are going to be just as if you ordered them from Concord. I spent too much, concentrating on OJC items that I didn't have and finally will: Milestone Rollins, 'fifties and 'sixties Tjader. kh1958 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 That sale is ridiculous. I ordered 15 CDs for $77, with free shipping. $173 off of list price. The best deal I saw--the Sonny Stitt box set, Stitt's Bits, for only $4.99 (I had it already). Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) I ordered 34. The dumping of cd goods reminds me of the "end of mono" when tons of stuff was in the "cheapo bins". Edited July 4, 2009 by Chuck Nessa Quote

sidewinder Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 (edited) Sadly, the shipping hit for overseas will prohibit me from ordering. I tried an order and it came out to over $1000 just for shipping costs alone.. Holy crap! The wife is going to kill me. Best get the flowers and chocolates ordered up front.. mjzee Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Thanks for the tip. Between the Concord sale and the other sale, I snagged some good titles (15 in all). Two interesting titles: The Greatest Jazz Concert In The World, 3 CDs, $5.98 J.J. Johnson - The Trombone Master (listed as Robert Johnson under Blues) Quote
sidewinder Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 (edited) Anyone seeking Duane Tatro's 'Jazz For Moderns', the Honi Gordon and a whole plethora of K-2s might find the selection interesting.. :rsmile: Their international shipping summations are well and truly screwed up though. Do you get a specially chartered jet for your $1k? Caution advised ! Edited July 5, 2009 by sidewinder Quote
Swinging Swede Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Strange. They say $4.99 per shipment + $1.99 per item to UK and Sweden. I ordered a fairly large number of Collectables CDs from them a couple of years ago when they had a sale, and the shipping amount was reasonable. It must be the summation that goes wrong? Quote
