Bill Pierce my Co-Host

As part of my "Jazz in The Classroom" feature for the month of September, saxophonist Bill Pierce will be my co-host this Friday night, September 4th from 8p-midnight.

Bill will be playing music from his list of essential tenor players. Also, some his own personal favorites, some up and comers and I'll fill things out with some of Bill's own recordings including some music recorded by WGBH and only available on 89.7 especially a beautful duet with he and the late pianist James Williams from Scullers Jazz Club, 2000, in Boston.

In coming weeks I'll be doing the same with drummer Yoron Isreal, vocalist Lisa Thorson and trumpeter Jason Palmer.
