paul secor Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 New Threadgill Interview in Wire magazine. Henry Threadgill Unedited VERY interesting stuff. Too much to digest in one reading. I'll be back. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 I gave it a spin last night and I like it and I think I'll like it more as I play it more. Quote
ATR Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/08/arts/mus...gill&st=cse It's all Threadgill all the time these days. Quote
Chalupa Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Man, my local brick n' mortar store still doesn't have it. Guess I'll have to go the interweb route. Sigh. http://thegig.typepad.com/blog/2009/11/regarding-henry.html Quote

clifford_thornton Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 I really need to get my review turned in on this one. Quote
Bol Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I've been listening to this CD off and on now. Not to belittle Threadgill's own playing, which is great, but it seems to me that some of the best moments of this recording are when the 4 other musicians are playing without Threadgill. They simmer and fidget and pop in ways that one does not often encounter. Great stuff. LIberty Ellman should record more. Quote
Larry Kart Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Really got into it tonight. Wow. Terrific interview, too. Quote
