What is your Faith???? (or lack thereof)

Recommended Posts

Man, I'm gonna be afraid to open the toilet for a while. In fact, I may not even let my kids open theirs without my supervision:

"But daaaaaaaaad, I gotto goooooooo!"

"Hang on son, I'm almost done posting! Then I gotta find the key to unlock the padlock on the toilet......"

Hey, a dad can't be too careful!

Well, I disagree with its assessement of me for the most part, I read through all the briefs about the faiths I supposedly had high percentages of similarity too, and the only one that really seemed to fit was Theravada Buddhism . . . .

This test actually told more of what I did not believe rather than asking what I do believe.

Like RT, I grew up in the United Church of Christ (my father was a minister his entire adult life --now retired about three years). I have actually been going to Catholic mass more often than to Protestant services the last few years. . .. My wife was raised Catholic; inlaws are devout, I find it interesting.

I don't believe in personal salvation, and a lot of other doctrines. Cosmologically I think I'm more Buddhist.

Here's what it says, and I'm scratching my head. I used the weighted responses too

1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)

2. Unitarian Universalism (91%)

3. Liberal Quakers (89%)

4. Secular Humanism (77%)

5. Neo-Pagan (71%)

Funny because any discussion of religion or the spirtual with UUs or Quakers or Buddhists drives me up a wall. The Narcissism of small differences strikes again?

I would have expected 1. and 2. to be flipped; I'm curious about which answer I gave made the distinction.

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)

2. Secular Humanism (98%)

3. Liberal Quakers (85%)

4. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (83%)

5. Nontheist (73%)
